Internship at Rittal Herborn: Growth, Responsibility and New Perspectives

Emily’s Experience with the European Industrial Experience Mittelhessen (EIEM)
The internship at Rittal Herborn was quite a journey. It was very rich in improving my professional side. It was enjoyable to work at the Rittal Application Center department and helping them analyse data. I got the pleasure to set up meetings with various Managing Directors and their colleagues which was a unique opportunity.
As an International Business year 2 student, the contact with colleagues across the world with different time zones and cultures was fascinating! Being trusted with this displayed me being seen as a valuable member of the team rather than a mere intern from The Netherlands.
During my internship I have been able to significantly improve my business English and Excel skillset. Due to the intensive work ethic at Rittal, you remain active and learn many things in various fields.
I would highly recommend this internship as it covers the main sections each business contains with. It is a great place to learn as you are taken seriously and receive important tasks. However, if you do not have your own vehicle to travel, I would keep in mind how you would commute to work every day. I stayed in Gießen which was quite a hassle with public transport.
But overall, no regrets. I learned so much about the corporate world and most importantly; myself!
