Summer Internship, EIEM (Anna, Vilnius Tech)

Eine Frau steht vor einem Gebäude.

During my summer internship at ISI home, a company in Germany, I had the invaluable opportunity to work in the planning department as an architecture student. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by incredibly friendly and supportive people who were always willing to guide and assist me.

To kickstart my internship, I underwent a comprehensive two-week training program where I familiarized myself with the company’s organizational structure, policies, and innovative ideas. Additionally, I received an intensive introduction to Revit software, a powerful tool that proved to be indispensable throughout my internship. This training equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the company’s projects.

Once the training was complete, I was entrusted with my own project in the city of Leipzig. This project entailed creating a new layout structure for a complex of 25 apartments and preparing all the essential support documentation required for obtaining the building permit. The responsibility bestowed upon me as an intern was both challenging and rewarding, as it allowed me to apply the theoretical knowledge I had acquired during my studies at VILNIUSTECH University in a real-life scenario. Moreover, this experience greatly enhanced my German language skills, as I had the opportunity to interact with clients and colleagues on a daily basis.

Despite Bebra being a relatively small town, I found its atmosphere to be captivating and enjoyable. During weekends and evenings, I made the most of my time by exploring different places in and around Bebra. I has a chance to visit Frankfurt, Kassel and Munich. Whether it was visiting historical landmarks, immersing myself in the local culture, or simply enjoying the picturesque landscapes, every experience added depth and richness to my overall internship journey.

Furthermore, my time at ISI home provided me with an invaluable opportunity to get new friendships and gain insights into different cultures. The diverse and inclusive professional environment fostered open communication and collaboration, enabling me to learn from experienced architects and professionals in the field. These interactions not only broadened my horizons but also allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the global construction landscape.

In retrospect, this internship at ISI home was a remarkable and transformative experience for me. It not only allowed me to gain practical experience in the field of architecture but also provided a platform for personal and academic growth. The nature of the tasks I undertook, coupled with the supportive and caring environment, enabled me to further develop my skills, refine my problem-solving abilities, and cultivate a strong work ethic.

Overall, my summer internship at ISI home was an enriching journey that exceeded my expectations. It solidified my passion for architecture and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the profession. The knowledge, experiences, and connections I gained during this internship will undoubtedly shape my future career path and contribute to my success as an architect. I am really thankful to ISIHome Gmbh, VilniusTech and THM for this opportunity.
